I/31 NEO-HITTITE & LATER ARAMAEAN 1100 BC - 710 BC

This list covers the Aramaean and Neo-Hittite successor kingdoms of Syria and Kilikia, including Damascus, Hamath, Que, Sam’al, Tabal, Kummuhu, Ataniya and Karkemish. Of these, Karkemish/Carchemish was one of the few truly Neo-Hittite states and its rulers appear to have been directly descended from the Hittite royal family. Though rich and powerful, these states fell one-by-one to the onslaught of Assyria and Urartu. Reference: Armies of the Ancient Near East N. Stillman & N. Tallis.
